Before the morning bell, the Student Council set the tone by greeting classmates at the doors and leading line dances in the gym, filling the space with music and energy.
Mr. McClure officially opened the assembly, welcoming students back and setting clear expectations for the year ahead. As part of his remarks, he and Dr. Cheeks recognized a group of sophomores who had earned outstanding scores last year, celebrating their academic achievement in front of the entire student body. He then introduced the returning staff, highlighting the dedicated team that will be guiding students this year.
The Student Council took the stage next with a playful “thug” theme to their presentation. After introducing themselves, they turned the spotlight to the new staff members and then gave a special welcome to the incoming 7th grade class.
The assembly concluded as students left with their seminar teachers, ready to begin their first day of classes. With spirit, laughter, and warm introductions, Ell-Saline Cardinals started the year on a strong note—together.
