I have just entered my 25th year of teaching, 11 years at Ell-Saline as a high school math teacher. Before Ell-Saline, I taught high school math for 2 years at Sacred Heart Jr/Sr High School. I began my career teaching middle school math for 12 years at Roosevelt-Lincoln and Lakewood Middle School in Salina. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in secondary math education from Kansas State University in 1999. I completed an online Master’s degree in middle level education with an emphasis in middle school math in 2006 from Walden University. I have 2 girls: Haley is studying Dental Hygiene and Allie is a sixth grader at South Middle School. In my free time, I enjoy walking, attending my daughter’s activities, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and hanging out with friends and family. I also play piano/organ and have played for various church services since I was in high school. In the past three years, I obtained my real estate license, and sell real estate part-time for SalinaHomes.com. I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. I have a passion for my students and a love for math. Ell-Saline is a wonderful place to work and I hope I’m here for a long time to come.
