English Teacher
Lori Scuitte

Lori Scuitte has been at Ell-Saline Middle/High School since she started teaching in 1984. She loves the ruralness of the school and the strong teacher/student/parent relationships it creates. For forty years she has primarily taught freshman and sophomore English, although she has taught every grade of English at one time or another during her career. In addition to her teaching she has sponsored or been involved in the following: cheerleading, pep club, student council, forensics, drama, class sponsorships, junior concessions, junior and senior prom, senior trip, senior graduation, the Redesign Leadership Team, the School Improvement Team, PALS (a mentoring program for incoming 7th graders and new students), and probably a couple more that she can’t remember. Ms. Scuitte earned her Bachelor's in English Education from Kansas Wesleyan in 1984 and her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State University in 2006, which she recalls as a "fantastic and rewarding experience for her." When Ms. Scuitte is not teaching, she spends her time with family and friends. On Saturdays once a month, summer sports camps and special occasions like Christmas and Easter she works at the Salina Country Club. "Miss Lori," as she is known at the club, spends time with elementary age children year around and loves it! Educating children of all ages is Ms. Scuitte's vocation. She feels blessed to be able to spend time with young kids in the summer and teach older kids during the school year... She enjoys having the "best of both worlds."
