My goal is to create a safe and fun experience for students. I have the pleasure of being able to teach subjects that lend themselves well to students having freedom of choices, having fun, and learning great life skills along the way. I prefer that my students have hands-on, project based lessons wherever possible. This year my hope is to fuse community projects into my students' curriculum. Doing so would give our students a chance to experience life outside of the classroom, community, and may serve as a way for those looking to accumulate volunteer hours. I am also the FCCLA adviser, as well as the theater coordinator this year. FCCLA stands for Family Careers and Community Leaders of America. This is a wonderful group to be in if you are someone who enjoy giving back to your community and getting to know others/making friends along the way. There are special events and scholarship opportunities for those who participate in STAR events, and these events are great for expanding your view of the world, bettering the way you problem solve, and for creating long-lasting, supportive friendships. As the Theater Coordinator, I am excited to create a fun and supportive experience for students. If you have a playful, creative, or outgoing spirit, this may be a space you would like to explore or join. This year, we will plan on directing some one-act plays with some talented kids. Attending and providing proceeds to the plays will go towards the continual expansion of our theater program here at Ellsaline.
