Ell-Saline FFA Competes at North Central District Food Science and Ag Sales Contests

Ell-Saline FFA hit the road bright and early this morning, rolling out of the parking lot at 6:30 am to Belleville for the North Central District Food Science and Ag Sales competitions at Republic County High School. The kids showed up tired, caffeinated, and ready to work.

In Food Science, students tackled the Triangle Test, matched aromas, answered customer inquiry letters, and completed an information test. These contests ask members to think like real professionals in the food industry, and our students rose to the challenge across all divisions.

• Discovery Division (8th Grade): Team placed 4th.
• Greenhand Division (Freshmen/First Year): Team placed 2nd, with Davanee Storer earning 7th and Abby Kejr earning 8th as individuals.
• Senior Division: Team placed 4th, with junior Payton Hayes earning 7th individually.

In Ag Sales, members took an information test, made individual sales presentations, and worked together to prepare a team sales call. The squad showed some serious sales chops today.

• Ag Sales Team: 1st place overall
• Individual Results: Jocelyn Taylor placed 1st, Lauren Taylor placed 4th, Laykin Walker placed 7th, and Ani Martinez rounded out the team effort.

Proud of these Cardinals for stepping up and representing Ell-Saline with hard work, professionalism, and a whole lot of early-morning grit.
