Ell-Saline FFA Brings Agriculture to Life at Tri-Rivers Fair Petting Zoo
During the 2025 Tri-Rivers Fair, the Ell-Saline FFA chapter once again opened the barn doors—literally—for the annual Petting Zoo. FFA members brought in a variety of animals, from cuddly chicks and playful goats to docile calves and curious swine, giving fairgoers of all ages a hands-on introduction to farm life.
Throughout the event, members shared their knowledge about animal care, breeds, and agriculture’s role in everyday life. Visitors were encouraged to pet and interact with the animals while learning fun facts and practical information directly from the students who raise them.
Chapter advisors and members alike view the Petting Zoo as more than just a crowd-pleaser—it’s a way to connect the community to its agricultural roots and inspire the next generation to explore the world of farming and FFA. With hundreds of smiling visitors stopping by, the 2025 Petting Zoo proved once again that sometimes the best way to learn is through a little dirt on your boots and a friendly animal at your side.
