Ellsworth County EMS Scholarship

Ellsworth County EMS Members are offering one (1) $500.00 scholarship to anyone who plans to attend post-secondary education at any Kansas college or trade school. Our objective with this scholarship is to produce new EMT/Paramedics, Firefighters, Emergency Dispatchers, or Law Enforcement Officers for possible future employment within Ellsworth County.

Eligibility Requirements:

You must be a current high school senior residing within Ellsworth County.

You must show scholastic ability, leadership, and citizenship.

Preference will be given to those seeking a career in Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, or Emergency

Dispatching.

Application Instructions:

The Application for this scholarship should be completed on a PC or typed and double-spaced. For the

application to be complete, you must include ALL the following:

  • Name, address, date of birth, name of parents, and siblings.
  • A brief statement about your college and career plans.
  • List of extracurricular activities in which you have participated in order of their importance to you.
  • List of honors and awards you have received in high school.
  • List your community services, activities, interests, and hobbies.
  • A brief description of your employment record.
  • A list of three people whom the scholarship committee may contact for more information
  • (teacher, employer, community member – not relative); include address and phone number.
  • A short essay or statement answering the following: As you anticipate your future, what do you picture doing after graduation from college or trade school? Include in the essay where you would like to live and how you plan to help the community you live in.
  • Parent and student signatures verifying that all information included in the application is correct to the best of your knowledge.
  • Attach a copy of your transcript.

Please submit your completed application to Ellsworth County EMS at 1107 Evans Street, Ellsworth, KS 67439 by May 5th.
