Doug Wilson, Ell-Saline Junior/Senior High School Principal, has been involved in education for the past 32 years. Mr. Wilson started his career as an elementary school teacher in Southwest Kansas. Over the course of his career he has taught many different subjects as well as coached a variety of sports. He has had a self-contained 5th grade classroom, departmentalized 6th grade classes, middle school science and middle school/high school physical education and health. In addition to his teaching he has coached a variety of sports. Volleyball and basketball for most of those 32 year as well as track and field and a few short stints in football. Mr. Wilson's administration experience began in 2014 as the K-12 principal at Hanover Schools. In 2016 he became the middle school/high school principal at Ell-Saline. Mr. Wilson's favorite part of being an educator is the relationships he builds with his students, athletes, and colleagues. Education is about making a difference in the lives of young people and advocating for what is best for kids. That is my focus and purpose as an educator. Mr. Wilson loves being a member of the Ell-Saline School system. Ell-Saline has so many amazing students that I love coming to work and surrounding myself with them. I also enjoy being around the outstanding teaching staff and support staff in our building. The faculty and staff truly care about the kids in our school building. Our school also has a wonderful supportive community that helps drive the success of our school. Mr. Wilson is married to Cary, the high school career counselor and has three children, Aubrey, Kade and Keala. He loves watching his kids compete in athletics and spending time with his family.
