Dress Give Away Event-March 6th
The sixth annual Prom-a-Rama prom dress give away event will be held March 6, 2010 at Christ the King Lutheran Church , 111 West Magnolia Road, Salina, Ks. The event goes from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. During the previous events many girls received dresses and accessory items.
This event involves the collection of donated dresses from Salina and surrounding communities. The dresses are given away to high school girls who attend the event. To receive a dress, the girls need to attend the give away and provide proof of being a high school student. Once the girl has shown her identification she will be admitted to the give away and there will be volunteers to help her find the perfect dress.
The Prom-A-Rama Committee was awarded a grant through the Salina Greater Community Foundation for the 2010 Prom-A-Rama. With this money the committee has purchased new larger size dresses from the size of 18 through 26.
We will also provide seamstresses to make on-site alterations or minor repairs. The dresses will be hung on racks by size and any donated accessories will be on tables. The girls may also sign up for various drawings (gifts donated by local businesses).
