I grew up on a farm in Brookville and have lived in or around this area most of my life.  Fort Hays State and McPherson College are the colleges I attended after Ell-Saline.   I graduated college with a B.S.  in Industrial Education.  After I graduated  I taught for three years at Canton-Galva High School and then took a break from education.  I started my own business of making and selling roping machines which I only did for a year.  I then went to work for Great Plains where I was a production welder.  Six months later I went to work for UPS where I was a package car driver mainly in the Concordia area for about four years.  I decided that I wanted to try teaching again and I taught at Solomon High School for three years.  The Ell-Saline job opened up and I was fortunate to be able to come “home”.  I always wanted to come back to where I had graduated from and teach and coach.  This is my 23rd year of teaching at Ell-Saline.  Drafting, woodworking, welding and small engines are the different areas I teach.  It is fun to teach all these different areas, it never gets boring!  While at Ell-Saline I have had two sons graduate also, Payte (26) and Colten (24).  They loved being Cardinals….and I do too!   Go Cardinals!
