I grew up in the Langley township in southern Ellsworth county, one of the few people around here who attended a one room school house for a few years, and when that closed we were shipped off to the big city of Marquette where I graduated.  I met my husband, Ken, at Fort Hays State, and we now have three children and five grandchildren.

I started teaching after my children were in school, beginning as a gifted para at Marion, then moving on to Hope and White City to teach K-12 special education. My next position was in Newton at Prairie View Special Purpose Day School where I taught a mixed classroom that ranged from 2nd to 8th grade.

When my husband became superintendent at Ellsworth, I became employed by Central Kansas Cooperative in Education. I worked half the day at St. Francis Academy (Ellsworth branch) and half at Kanopolis Middle School.

I came to work at Brookville at Ell-Saline MS/HS in 2009 and have thoroughly enjoyed working with the staff and students here.  It is a joy to come to work where there is a positive and helpful staff who cares about students; and where all students can be involved, not only in a quality education, but also in extra-curricular activities, a bonus of the smaller school system.
