Trudy Dennison

My name is Trudy Dennison, but you may also know me as “Miss Hiatt”.    I am currently beginning my 25th year at Ell-Saline and this will be my 24th year teaching third grade!

I grew up in Munden, a small community in North Central Kansas. The closeness of family and friends, along with a strong Czech culture has instilled my passion and enthusiasm for life and continued learning opportunities.  I graduated from Belleville High School in 1977.  I received an Associate of Arts Degree in 1979 from Cloud County Community Junior College and later graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1981.  In 1991, I received my certification in Education from Kansas Wesleyan University.  My latest degree in 2003 was a Master of Science in Reading/LA from Kansas State University.

When I’m not teaching you can find me cheering on the KSU Wildcats (I bleed purple), gardening, reading, cooking, and believe it or not…..fishing! There is nothing better than reeling in a feisty bass, walleye or catfish!

My husband Ray and I have one daughter, Sarah, who lives in Phoenix, Arizona.

Throughout my career at Ell Saline, I have continued to positively add to the Cardinal Culture through multiple leadership roles, promoting rich opportunities, and a dedication to help all students succeed!
