CPTA Recent Accomplishments

CPTA News

We just wanted to share with you some accomplishments from the past six months.

Soon, you will see something new in the gym at the school.  CPTA purchased a new 40 ft. rock climbing wall for the north wall of the gym.  The wall has mats that will fold up so that students can not climbing on the wall when unsupervised.  We are very excited about this new addition to our school.

We hope everyone had a chance to visit the CPTA table at enrollment.  We saw lots of new faces come through and would like to welcome all the new families joining us at ESE.  We would also like to thank everyone who signed up to help with the various activities the CPTA organizes.  If you missed the volunteer table, you can get a volunteer form on this web site on the Volunteer Page.  Just fill it out and send back to school with your student.

Last spring, CPTA purchased a stencil of the United States.  This summer, volunteers gathered to paint the map and some other new games on the cement.  The map can be used as a teaching tool since all the states are different colors and not labeled.  The volunteers also painted 6 new hopscotch boards, 4 four-square boards, free throw lines, and shuttle relay lines.  The volunteers included:  Krista Russell, the DeArvil family, Dawn Pierce, Mendee Kramer, Courtney Clifford, the Bradley family, Dana Edgerton, and Nikki Davenport.  A big thanks goes out to all the volunteers since they gave up their Saturday to improve our playground.

The CPTA sponsored a summer volleyball camp in July for girls 2nd-6th grades.  The girls learned lots of new skills with the help of the HS volleyball coaches and players.  They showed a lot of talent and enthusiasm and all who attended received a t-shirt.  Thanks to those who participated and helped make our volleyball camp a success, especially Laurie Came, Krista Russell, and Emily Smith.

Our soup label coordinator, Darci Ditto, used our points this summer to purchase recess balls for the school.  We had enough points to purchase 10 various-sized rubber balls, 2 footballs, 2 basketballs, and 2 soccer balls.  Thank you to everyone who clips labels and turns them in to the school.  Every label helps!

If you were able to attend Play Day last spring, you might have noticed the 4 new picnic tables on the playground.  Last spring, CPTA used fundraising money to purchase these red and black tables for the students and parents to enjoy.  We would not be able to raise the money needed to do projects like this without the families of Ell-Saline.  Way to go Cardinals!
